CIBC Oppenheimer has an interesting take on this quarter figures. To them Apple has completed its turnaround and this is the best they can do for the year. The analysis pressumes no further market gains from "recovery mode" and thus the downgrade.

Pretty much everybody else (meaning other analysts and the bulls here) assume that Apple will see continued gains above and beyond industry growth.

Clearly, if Apple attacks a new market segment (such as the iMate) they will see faster growth than the rest of the industry. My question to the bulls is: suppose Apple keeps on renewing the product line for 1999 but does not introduce iMate. Do you think Apple would grow faster than the rest of the industry in that case?

STRONG close! Amazing. There is the possibility that there will be no significant pullback before the ER. We held 45 with high volume since 1:00 with only one planar dip to 44 1/2.

AAPL at 50 soon!
