rich, they are one and the same question, for all intents and purposes. i think mu could be breakeven or have a $10-20 profit next xmas season.

as far as 2000 is concerned, it all depends on how much they spend on capexs now, and i'm not privie to that...

i do know it is hard to spend billions when your cash flow is consistently flowin' out... how many more half a billion sugar daddies are gonna show up now that txn kicked in and intc kicked in?

There are about three Asian producers who are making money right now and swung into the black from about October. The other majors are close to break even currently. Capacity constraints are already making their presence felt in higher 64meg prices. There is a shortage of 64meg capacity currently, it will worsen for the 128meg and 256meg generation.
