Random thoughts:

It costs very little to initiate a lawsuit.

With the right exposure, news of any litigation can cause a down spike in a stock. Many will sell as a reflex response to any uncertainty.

Usually it takes a little time for calmer heads to analyze the impact of announced litigation and make a determination as to potential adverse effects on a company.

Given the almost real-time emergence of buyers coinciding with the announcement, a suspicious person might wonder if the low-cost lawsuit with immediate national publicity might have been a ploy.

What if an already alienated company was provided free legal assistance to file its "grievances" with assurances that the abuses, real or imagined, would be reported nationally. Of course if someone who wanted an opportunity to interrupt a rise in price and have a window of lower prices was ready to buy, a little orchestrated litigation could be a very profitable thing.

Of course in America where we honor the rule of law, such practices would never be tolerated.
