Islander...
I talked with my sister the other day to tell her that I'd bought some CMGI and asked her what she had paid for it. BTW my sister knows very little about stocks (she has a friend that encouraged her to buy just a little).

She bought it a couple years ago, 30 shares @ 7.75/share.

After the split, she'll have 360 shares.

Right now she has 180 @$170 = $30,600. Not bad for a $232 investment!

This reminds me of the line from Maurine Stapleton in 'You've got Mail', when she says she's rich.... because she bought Intel @ $6!

islander

that's a good point. it's strange how the profit-taking hasn't materialized very often. people seem to be so fascinated with the stocks that they get in, buy on dips, and just enjoy the ride. of course, that depends on which stocks you are in, doesn't it?
