I work for PeopleSoft - development today had a meeting to talk about the new release. Stan Sweete, head of all development, divided up the talk into three parts, where we are, where we're going, and gossip/rumors. He had heard the rumor about IBM, but said there wasn't any substance to it. A few weeks ago upper management (Peggy Taylor, etc.) were asked the same thing. Dave Duffield (CEO) had no intention of selling the company. Plus, they claim there's a poison pill, and so we're not a good hostle take-over bid either.

Do I trust my management? Yeah - for the most part. I don't know why this rumor keeps surfacing. This is the second time in the last year. Before this, Microsoft was supposed to buy us. Didn't really believe that one either.
