DellFan, I say Whisper this baby!!!!!! All those losers or lemmings, whichever you prefer, sold Dell because they didn't beat the Whisper last Q. They ignored all of Dell's great opportunities and obvious dominance in this PC market. After buying a Pc for my sister-in-law this Christmas, I experienced first hand the Dell experience. No PC maker can compete with this! Dell will continue to gain market share and grow at many times the industry growth rate for many years to come. They haven't even scratched the surface yet in Asia and Latin America and Europe is also booming. I believe Dell's biggest opportunities are abroad and will continue its atranomical momentum. JMHO.

:O)

Hi Dellfan,

RE: "But what I hope doesn't happen, and IMHO, probably won't happen, is that MD apparently never shoots for either a whisper number or analysts' estimates. His only concern is, and should be, managing the company and continuing to optimize resource utilization. I admire him for that."

If all companies were to do that ,the whisper number " thing" would be easier to deal with. I too admire MD. My style would be to address the problem publicly and in straight away fashion.Deliver as best as I can.

Yet I do recognize it is a bit of a catch 22.

If required, adjustment(s) made have to be made.

Matter of degree and circumstances.

Regards,

QT
