StockOperator, As in "Reminiscences of..." a great book. Thanks for pointing out GM, I don't screen everything and somehow missed that one, to busy following my own stuff. You made a very important point about the market, does it imply sector rotation into these stocks (GM, Philip Morris, not internuts). From one chest thumper to another, congrats...<ggg> Roebear

SO, GM is often considered a bellweather of the market. A bull market generally will have enough momentum for a continuation of at least 3 months if GM is at a new high. It topped out last spring about 3 months before the Dow peaked. One of the few technical indicators left for the bears is the Transports. They are very close to confirming however. Today marks the 3 month point from the Oct. bottom. If one believes in the 9 month cycle- then next week will be a real decision point between bull and bear. Will the bull continue for the 2nd third of the cycle or will it reverse? GM is currently telling us what it thinks. TW
