Don't you think the split announcement was premature? I'm sure Armstrong knows by now that the deal will go through. He must know. Let's face it, he's doing everything he can to convince the world that AT&T is strong enough to make a deal like this work? And what's all this nonsense in the news about the TCI/AT&T deal being good for all Americans? Screw them! If they're too foolish not to own T stock by now, that's their loss! <gg> Anyone else think that T's dwindling share of the long distance market, though still dominant, signals a possible long-term strategy shift for the company? Do you get the impression that Armstrong et al are willing to let that business segment slide a bit while they work on increasing the stature of things like data services (WorldNet)? Don't you think the split announcement was premature? He must feel very confident over approval and completion of the TCI deal. It's not effective (or formal) until the merger is complete. I would have like to have seen a 2-for-1 myself... but I'll take it anyway. :) Go Big "T" Curt
