Yes, mercury finance, that wonderful subprime lender the misrepresented its financial statements, caused money market funds holding their commercial paper to "break the buck", and is currently under bankrupcy protection. Gone from $80 / share to a nickel. The re-org plan gives all cash to secured lenders.

But you are correct, volume and price was up a bit. But unless playing purely momentum, which hasn't developed yet, IMO an investor should understand what the ongoing business is supposed to be. So are you buying?
