With Intel set to report revenues for Q498 at about 7.3 Billion, assuming 80% is in semiconductors, that computes to $5.84 Billion/quarter or $1.95 Billion per month.

Thus, Intel accounted for 1.95/11.39 = 17% of the WORLD MARKET for Integrated Circuit shipments.

Just think - if Intel could only sell books written by someone else or CD's recorded by rock/punk/jazz groups, they would really be a force to contend with !
