Larry, I've got a very similar setup to you. I pay $35 to @home for my cable connection and an additional $10/month for AOL. I don't have a much justification for keeping my AOL account. I've had my current email address for about 5 years and loath changing it. I feel like it's part of my identity... almost like a social security number. I don't use AOL much except for email. It really is difficult for me to justify maintaining my AOL account. As time goes on and cable become more prevalent in homes, hundreds and then thousands (perhaps millions??) will be in the same predicament. I think that if AOL is smart, they'll buy or partner with a cable company (or partner with one) and offer access to AOL and the internet via cable for an extremely competative price. In fact, I'm positive that AOL is quite aware of this and most likely already has a plan in place to insure that they don't lose members to cable ISP's. They're number one for a reason. They're smart and they can turn on a dime when they have to. They won't take a backseat to anyone. The future will be quite interesting... Stay tuned.
