**OFF TOPIC**

Doug I do not wish to debate the subject so this will be my only response on the topic.

This country has become and remained strong for one reason only IMO and that is because the power of the people has remained in the hands of the people. It has remained in the hands of the people for one reason only and that is the second amendment. The people at the head of our government may or may not be corrupt and/or power hungry but they are not stupid. We are not Canadians or Australians and if such a ban came down the military would divide and the civilians would arm and the end result is a militia of 20+ MM people. I do not look forward to this scenario. 25% of all Americans died in the last civil war which is more Americans than all other US wars combined. People are not willing to die for their cigarrettes but they are willing to die for their freedom. The two are not comparable to each other.

Thomas Jefferson said it best IMO "those who are willing to surrender part of their freedom in the interest of security deserve neither freedom nor security."
