Dale - Re: " If a brash upstart can mount a competent, serious challenge to the perennial powerhouse, I'm inclined to bet on the upstart and take advantage of the inherent leverage that an initially low market share can provide "

A brash upstart?

AMD ?

AMD was started in 1969 only a few months after Intel.

AMD has been making Intel compatible CPUs since around 1976 - 23 years ago.

A brash UPSTART?

AMD was making x86 CPUs in 1983 - 16 years ago.

A brash upstart?

AMD has earned a profit - a penny/share - in only one of the past 6 quarters and has lost money in the last three years.

A brash upstart?

You're investment style is to bet against Intel.

Instead, you should figure out how to make money.

AMD hasn't figured it it out yet.
