Trader J - ASCT

I just wanted to say that there is no confusion in my mind about where you are coming from with this stock. I sincerely appreciate your sharing your information with us all, and it is very clear that we are dealing with a rumor stock, hearsay. Let's hope for the best, and accepts what comes. Thank you again.

HELLO thread: I am a lurking newby.. I enjoy this thread very much you are all straight shooten educators. Started trading Nov 20th w/4000$ dropped to 3200 in one week. I bought on the gap a few times. (TJ you warned us Newbs about the gap buy in mid-early Nov). The account after, 15 trades is now @ 4900. 13 of these trades came from this thread. In the past I have only invested on fundamentals, I made 13 trades in a year. Anyway this is a lot of fun.
I still make plenty of mistakes.
My strategy is to hold 50% of my account in long, While maintaining the other for short term, 3 mins to 3 days (Wery complex eah?)
some how today i blew my 50/50 rule off.
my positions are as follows:
aklm 200
asct 200
gend 100
sybr 200
My rational:
aklm: they have 2 hit games and were technically set to rage will hold 100 past earnings for sure
asct: if the rumor doesn't come to fruitation, it was fun imagining
gend: revenge.. Had this last week. took it home to the fire. felt remorse, put sell order for morn at purchase (7 5/8) went in the morn @ 16 1/4.!>. Thought to myselve, these guys(the MMs) must be lovers of man kind er somptin, so while helping my 4 yr old dress i also slapped a buy at 14 1/4,sold at the end of the day at 9 27/32. I do think they will run a little next week.
sybr:I think these niche interNUTS are for real. This comp has a true shot at some profs. geer& bikr as well (they dont have the babe w/ the cigar though)
sorry for ramblin on so long
but kind of feel this thread needed a crazy newby post

TJ - Don't worry, my friend, we trust you. And if the ASCT rumor works out for the good of all of us, we'll all chip in and buy Trader M some diapers! Of course, you have to do the installation of them. : P

I have learned more from you and this thread, than I ever could have expected. If I hadn't found this thread, I'd still be placing market orders. *shudder*

I hope everyone enjoys their weekend.

llater,
Tony B

Jim,

We trust you and understand the game (I think!). In the end we all make our own trades. A rumor is a rumor. When one company starts down the road to taking another over it is usually a complicated process. There are many thing that can trip it up. That is were the risk is. The rewards if it goes through are usually pretty high. I agree with you on the downside here - that is what makes this appealing. I have an average share cost at under $3.50. I think that it is worth the risk ($2 - $3) for the shot a the reward (>$10).

We all have to remember that we are responsible for our own trades!

Jeff/Anyone:

Sorry if this has been covered or is off topic, but this thread was highly recommended for daytrading related topics; there are 3,000+ posts here so my apologies if this was previously covered. I'm looking to daytrade from the boonies. I expect to be a regular on this thread.

I'm going crazy researching D/T firms, their systems and charges. I would like to run internet and PC Quote on one computer and my execution system on the another. I know some brokers provide charts in their windows based systems. I would like to avoid trading via the internet. I don't want to scrimp on hardware and execution system. I'd rather spend a little more on that than recurring monthly fees for MCI or ISDN line. Does anyone have information about satellite hookups/cost, etc?

Thanks,

Steve
