Alan, I too am impressed by the new Apple G3 computers as they present a lot of performance for the money. I currently have a NEC 200 Mhz Wintel computer so have no hands on experience with the new Apple computers. They have always been the choice of folks who were heavy into graphics work and with Firewire added this will make them even more attractive to those doing video editing and digital photography. I was sure happy to see that they are now including an Iomega Zip drive as standard on at least some G3 models. I am also hopeful that Apple will choose to include a Zip drive in the new Yosemite eMac computer due to be released this spring. The USB Zip will work fine for the rest of the eMac computers out there. Sales of these internet machines has been spectacular according to recent press reports. I see they also come in a variety of new colors now. This will be a headache for stores trying to decide on which colors to stock, but does add a bit of excitement to the Apple lineup. If I were in the market for a new computer and didn't have to worry about having my collection of old software work on the new machine, I would surely consider the purchase of one of the new G3 Apples though.

Good luck to us in the coming months with IOM... Mel

According to the statistics (projections for next year) in the latest Publish magazine, the design/graphic market for CD-RW for backing-up is growing very fast (if I remember correctly growing to 38%), and will take away from external hard disks, zips etc. Mind you, it's only the graphics market, I think the average family user will stock up on the new 250 zip..
the 1680 agfa with the free click drive is not that great and has some faults according to reviews (the latest one in the February Macworld)..i had eyed it initially but am leaning towards the Kodak 580 or 260, or still the Olympus 600 DL for my own use...I do welcome the click drive for digital cameras..
IOM...this puppy will take off, slowly and steadily, and could reach new heights within this year - Goldman Sachs didn't fill an order of 100 000 just to park their investors money <g>
