Rich, my trump card in dealing with severe Windows problems is a backup-format-re-install. It's drastic, heavy-handed and time consuming, but I enjoy doing it. You have to study up on it and then set aside a day. After doing it several times I can now get it done in 2-3 hours.

But 15 seconds of hard-drive grinding between pages is more than I could put up with. Definitely, for me, a re-format scenario (after all else failed)

I like it very much! I think I can milk out another year and then pass it on to someone that isn't able to afford a new computer. I do know that my next computer will be another DELL. Good luck and good luck with the market.
