Chuzz and thread. The below is url from a poster on the ATHM thread. I'm in complete agreement with him accept his comment about the web become boring. It's the shovel makers that will reap the big bucks from the Internet.

I just checked Yahoo! for analysts' expectations for AMZN, and here they are: It is expected to lose $.55/share for FY '98, lose $.60 for FY '99 and 'grow' eps at 65% per annum over the next five years. That sounds like the analysts are expecting a loss of
$6.73 per share in 2003 (if my math is correct)!!!

No why would any sane person invest in a company with those kinds of increasing
losses?

Perhaps, by splitting the stock, they would cut their respective loss per share <g>.
