HM was rumored as having "unwound" positions, as AU, now, I do not know how much. That is why I brought the issue to the table, I do not know the answer.
No, I do not think in only U.S. dollars. I was just wondering if we may see some upside surprises(far lower losses? or maybe a slight real profit) this quarter. Is it possible? Today the major mining companies that show a real profit are AU, ABX, NEM,(DBRSY?) could this drive someone of the others into the black?
Sorry, I thought this is also a forum for questions not just answers.

Hutch,

I have read that Newmont, strike me down, for mentioning a stock's name on THIS thread...runs naked. That is they do not hedge. That is why their price can be so volatile.

That is why I own it. Although recently I have found it much easier to buy high than low.

Hutch it is a mute point..I thought a technician like yourself never pays attention to this garbage...if POG move so all mining co do..if not some do...that require research, not hedging strategies...Hedging is reflected in earnings eg bloomberg.com By the way ABX is up 33% in 52 weeks and you may want to switch your strategy and really quick....
what do you think of Asia recover or so they think? and why would dollar get killed against yen if not for this?

Hutch, forgive me for the question but why out of so many potential candidates a Gold Bear like youself would get on ABX case...without going into specifics why would one go after the leader of the pack?

Hutch - "Some day you'll realize that GOLD should never be considered valued into just one currency"

From reading your posts which have laid heavy emphasis on gold priced in $US - I'd say the above enlightenment has only just dawned on you? Never mind, we all live and learn - hopefully. E
