Hey visnic, remember "when in doubt, run in circles scream and shout".
You and noway are still rowing on the same side of the boat. Come on get that other oar in the water!!

Looks like old "MCI BERT" likes Valence to the tune of another 10,000 shares. Pretty encouraging....

Dark Green: re Sony FMK's description of events coincides with two sources that told me the same thing. So one question. Does Sony have it's own advanced program coming close to fruition. Personally I doubt it. 15 months is not a long time in the development of this technology. I have spoken to a number of battery scientists and specialists in thin film technology and it has been a bear of a problem, making lith poly work. You've got polymers interacting with polymers and all sorts of problems on all levels: physical, chemical, thermal, mechanical. You need electron microscopes to examine the films. It's deep science baby! with no discussion of this on the threads because no one is equipped to discuss it. Even scientists, assuming they were so inclined, could probably not make a thread, a reasonable forum. This technology has been years in developing and it is certainly possible that there are others as close as Valence. I have spent about 10 hours a week researching Lith Poly since last April and I would certainly like to know a lot more but I think there is a real possibility that sometime between now and 6 months from now
Valence will produce commericially pretty much in the way FMK has laid out and they could conceivably have a serious advantage over everyone else. and if they don't and they never produce, I'll lose money and take a stroll in the park; but let me tell you: It could really happen.

and furthermore Dark Green, (I don't know why I'm talking to you at all; probably because I am still hung over from last night. I was blotto when I posted last nite) Everything you say of course is plausible. But you operate on a very superficial level. I doubt you attempt to talk to anyone in the real world beyond your computer about Li-Poly arena. Investment community not interested? It took me about 50 phone calls but I have spoken to representatives of 5 major brokerage houses who are indeed looking at and TALKING directly to Valence.

You say the history of the company is checkered. True. but you talk about it as if it is one continuous beast from inception. If you spent some time developing sources you might have come to the tentative conclusion that Cal Reed who really had a lot to work with, basically bungled. He was not an R and D man. He had lots going for him but he couldn't coordinate. Now comes Mr. Dawson, the once and future king. It could well be the case that he has pulled it together. Not a great communicator (perhaps by intention), a bit of a cowboy, but in my opinion, given all the folks I've spoken with (more than 100), and everything he has said publicly, he would have to be seriously more unbalanced than you, for there not to be something really cooking at his company.

And this business about financing, its such a lot of hogwash and about 90% too much time on this thread has been spent on this topic.
LOOK WHO'S INVOLVED! do a little research on Dawson. You think he's a lightweight? a spinner of superficial crap like yourself. What are his motivations? Actually, I apologize. you obviously use this thread as an outlet for you personal problems. It has little to do with the real situation we are dealing with here.

disclaimer before breakfast: as per my post of last night. I beleive the answer is in the science of the thing, and only a handful of folks on the planet know for sure what's coming down the line.

Good luck to you Dark Green.

Hi, Darkgreen,

A couple of responses to your responses:

1. Vis basis of comparison: I was hoping for an apple-to-apple comparison. There are a dozen or more Bellcore licensees. Which has executed? Which has executed better than Valence?

2. Vis investment community, execution and "sufficient interest...to invest time in following it:" There does seem to be some institutional interest in following Valence: I recall hearing both buy and sell-side firms asking questions at the conference calls, and I note the institutional holders of Valence stock. Knowing that the firm has not yet executed is not also to know the firm will never execute. The street evidently makes the distinction.

3. Vis tulip bulb: In light of the internet phenomena (and for other reasons), I agree that "the appearance of value should not be viewed as a confirmation of ultimate, legitimate value." However, taking this line of argument in the present case subtly undermines your usual "rational market" assumption and gives comfort to those who think you're capable of manipulating the stock price with your criticisms. Given that holding a stock at a given price is tantamount to a decision to buy it at that price, and that a large number of institutions continue to hold it after a long time, it seems that some members of the street find value in the stock that is more substantial than tulip-bulb mania. Indeed, I think there are sources of value that do not show up on the books -- e.g., the patent portfolio and the institutional experience of the research team. Different valuations may be placed on the company quite legitimately.

Regards, lws
