Well, Amazon could always give put options to attract new talent.:)

I have a somewhat different take on the Internet stocks. I always worry about the competition side. One of the things that drives these crazy stocks is that they can make relatively large margins on commodity items like books because they don't have any overhead. No real estate, no large staffing costs, and no large inventories to maintain. Basically, they act as middlemen. However, if this is true, than the barriers to competition will also be lowered. Anyone with financial backing can enter this field. You can see this alreay happening with BKS spinning off its .com unit. I have to think that in the future Amazon and others will start to feel this. Will this spell the death nell to these companies? Probably not. But it will cause profitability problems. And in the end it will probably cause these stocks to come to earth. I would much rather invest in the long term in a store that has tangible assets.
