Hi,

I too noticed that stockedge takes a noticeable time to load charts if for any reason you look at a new symbol for the first time near the end of the day. Try bringing up a chart on INTC or AMZN or some other high volume stock at around 2 in the afternoon, for some symbol you have not looked at since the last time you started stockedge.

I compared over the phone to what steckedge tech support people see on their direct connection, and the delay is not at their end. The thing is that to retrieve a chart, even an interval chart, you need to get all the tick data for the day.

A few months ago I got cable modem service and guess what? Those charts retrieval time went from 20 seconds or more each, to 2 seconds each.

I guess Q-Charts either keeps some of that data on your hard drive for faster access, or else has found some way to send less data to build each chart. Most likely the first I would say, which would show good foresight for a system that is going to display days worth of tick data.

As far as I can see the problem being discussed here was never about how to get the symbols into the window, but rather how long it takes to load all the tick data. I hope this helps.
