<Murphy's long-term performance in biotech has been wretched. Anyone who argues otherwise is simply wrong. However I agree with Bob........ there are opportunities to take good leads/stuff from the very worst of sources.>

I agree with you're second assertion without comment... however, as to your first assertion, my observational evidence (anectdotal at best) suggests that MOST involved in biotech have spotty and best and many have terrible long term records. I hear you saying this is not true?

< why not follow the VDXX biotech portfolio here at SI? It was up 100% for 1998. The calls were conceived here, made here, and clearly documented here by Rocketman, V1 and Cytokine1......>

I certainly will... thank you very much! Didn't know about this, and although I've only been investing in biotech since tax selling season of this year, I've been looking for good sources. THANKS! As to the track record you must understand that the length of time of the sample provided as well as the sector (biotech) makes the 100% return, although commendable, less than something to write Mark Hulbert about.

<Why the heck would you want to pay for Murphy's opinions when there is a track record of excellent performance under your nose?>

Good point... I wouldn't except that its very reasonably price IMO, and the track record you provided is 1 year. As a PHD I'm surprised you would put forward your "evidence" of performance in the way you have. As you know 1 year is, certainly not enough data to "get you into trials", to say the least. Any you are giving 0 credence to someone who commands "some" respect in the investment community without supporting data. In any case, I'm glad you posted and I am excited to listen in on the thread you suggested and increase my research & investment prospects. Any additional information you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
