~OT~

gc,

THE Player has no intention of selling his PSFT. I have to disagree with you, the downside risk here is only a couple of points with an upside potential of at least 15-20. I also think investor sentiment is starting to turn on the stock as well and that the stock will do very well 1999 overall.

PSFT is not the only security I own either and I've coincidentally made a ton of money in a few of the internet stocks you own. It's not fair, however, to compare the performance of PSFT to that of an internet stock. The risk that I assume by purchasing a PSFT is far less than what I assume when I purchase an internet. I therefore don't require as high a return. In financial speak this is known as a RISK/RETURN tradeoff. Maybe you've heard of it??

Not to be condescending, but I really don't think I need your advice. I'm doing just fine on my own..Thank you.

Regards,

The Player

gc, I knew that post wasn't intended for me. I was simply pointing out that your posts always seem to be either/or.....either you own psft or you own internets. The Player's point about risk/reward is worth reading again. The reward on PSFT is certainly not at the same level as the potential on some of the internets but then again the risk is not the same either. By this I'm not saying to run out and buy PSFT. I'm simply saying that each of us has to analyze our own situation and make our investment decisions accordingly.

I have seen posts referring to the PSFT turnaround. I don't see this as a turnaround situation since the company has simply changed from being a high growh/high flyer to a more mature company with lower (but still more than acceptable)growth expectations. There is nothing wrong with 30% growth from a $1B+ company and all that has happened here is that the stock price has adjusted to reflect this change.

Everyone on this thread is not a trader and to tell the Player to sell his PSFT because of a runup due to a buyout rumor is approaching this from a trading perspective vs. investment.
