Thanks, jp, for your response. It brought tears to my eyes. It pleases me that you felt humor, and decency, and kindness, and kindliness in a Catholic church. I do, too. The candles, the paintings, the statues, the flowers, the singing - - these are not intellectual things, they are things of the spirit, perceived by the emotions. The incessant argument on this thread wearies my spirit, but I am touched that at times, it sparks true insight.
