At times there is a spark of insight, of connection, of the granting of a middle ground between opposites with the realization that the granting will not diminish nor destroy either, in some cases even enhance them. The discussions that becomes arguments that seem often to dissolve into pummeling in an attempt to form another in one's own image are wearying, indeed. I've been diagnosed with CFD (good catch all decease) but sometimes I think it's just plain old weariness. Then something good happens, you see someone do something beyond themselves for the mere sake of the doing, or someone looks at you like they really see you and you think "what the heck, I'll try it one more day. Always get to see another sunset that way, anyhows, and that's something." Utoh, and I'm not even drunk.
