you need to do some more research. orcl is a db co.;psft is an enterprise software company whose apps work on almost all dbs. orcl apps only work on orcl dbs. psft apps service over 30 million employees right now and they will leverage that base for lots of internetworking possibilities.

PSFT is not a DB company like Oracle. They are an ERP company like SAP, BAAN, and ORACLE. A buyout by IBM, although not a sure thing, would make sense.

However, IBM the hardware vendor and services firm has arrangements with SAP, et al. This may put a damper on things.
