I'm not letting go of DISH until we see if they get the access to the local stations.

Have you noticed that Congress is rather busy at the moment? I'd be surprised if anything will change fairly soon (and don't forget cable is lobbying against it, as well).

DISH is very interesting considering potential to get access to local stations, their connection to WEBTV, and the small number of outstanding shares.

In your opinion, when do you think that satellite service will provide local stations? Is this topic currently being debated in Congress? Thanks.

--acquisition of the last national license to beam TV and other services directly to homes via satellite.

---''The transaction will greatly increase EchoStar's capacity to transmit video programming and will enhance its ability to compete aggressively and effectively against other distributors of multichannel programming, including the cable companies that dominate these distribution markets,'' the department said in a filing to the FCC.

News Corp. and MCI, however, will be investors in EchoStar. Together they will have a 37 percent stake in the company and 8.5 percent of its voting rights.
