your missing the point. his parition disapeared. Either tool will help him diagnose the problem. fdisk is already on the computer and will do the job and is free. PM is an essential tool. every advanced user should own a copy or more. PM will not fix this deleted parition. Honestly I don't know what will. I might try Powerquests new tool. If the data there is really important and backups are not available in which case you need professional data recovery. Generally these outfits do a tremendous job from what I have seen but it cost $$$. $1000 min from what I have seen.

Afterthough: PM might repair a damaged parition table. dunno. A Call to powerquest TS would also be hot on my list.

I don't know of that any of the MS rescue tools would overwrite the parition table. Can anyone comment here?

EDIT: Doesn't Norton Utilities for DOS/95 check and repair a damaged partition table. Its been so long since I've used norton utilities.
