Sure - the K7 is smaller and less complex than the K6-3 !

No, my hope for K7 is based on the fact that it was intentionally architected for high clock rates. The 3-cycle L1 cache is a good example. In the past, AMD's manufacturing has suffered from the whims of learning-challenged architects who failed to grasp that clock speed is the only thing that matters in their marketplace.
