AMD vs. INTEL

Kids, kids, kids...

INTEL is a brand name that every american knows and will buy when it comes to purchasing a computer.

AMD? Only computer junkies looking for a cheaper chip.

No matter what AMD does in the future.. Mr. and Mrs america are going to buy INTEL because they buy what they are familiar with.

INTC , I feel, is going to announce great earnings.

Thankfully, it's a down DOW and NASDAQ day making INTC a great buy at the close.

If YHOO also creams Wall Street's expectations... watch out tomorrow on the NASDAQ.

Paul,

Are you back-handedly saying that Intel's architects and designers WERE smart enough to design for HIGH CLOCK SPEEDS ?

Intel architects have benefited from the outstanding manufacturing prowess of the company.

There is no excuse for the low clock speeds across the industry. Architects at Intel, AMD, Cyrix, and even DEC (as of late) have all failed to grasp the concept that clock speed sells. Somebody should have hit 1GHz this year.
