<Buying STBI at $7 is equivalent to buying 3dfx at $10 3/4> Exactly. I sold my entire position in TDFX in early Dec for $15 in order to take advantage of the loss tax deduction. (was in at $21) I was free to re-enter the stock as of Jan 7...I've been sitting on the bid at $7.00 ever since. Have accumulated about a third of my original position, will continue to buy at $7 till I'm where I want to be. I was "way" too heavy into TDFX...so I'm going to stop at about two thirds what I had before...but my new basis will only be $10.75...after having sold for $15...and got the advantage of a huge tax savings. Of course the deal might fall through...but the upside is worth the small chance of that happening. David

Since we already have a 0.77 actual for 1Q-3Q, we only need 0.07 for 4Q to come in right at the consensus. If Banshee sales have been as strong as they've been made out to be, I wonder if there are some one-time charges that will go against 4Q that the analysts know about that we don't. Piranha
