Wayne Walker, the ex Detroit Lion linebacker, had a great phrase describing Joe Montana's poise as a player....

<< he's as cool as the other side of the pillow >>

Wishing that poise to myself and all others who decide to continue hold AXC for still another year or longer. We sure may need it.

"...sales may increase by the end of the year.
A DCR recovery could accomplish that..."

Hal,

Do your part and buy a DCRsi for your PC!

I just signed on, so please forgive: who is Karen? I signed up because of the madness I was seeing on the Yahoo sight for this stock. I am a long time holder, starting with the Bramson talk on Technation. In then out at the top, back in with an average of 1.76.
There is one screaming person on the Yahoo site that is actually saying just what you are saying. You sound rational, he does not. Can you fill me in briefly?
Best Wishes, MO

Well Hal you just blew every theory we had about what was going on at Ampex. Cosumer product? NO. Web hosting? Maybe but on a small scale. News? HELL NO. WE DO NOT RELEASE NEWS HERE AT Ampex!!!

New acquisitions? Nothing on the table right now.

Thank goodness Ed will not borrow any more money. He has(had) no real plan for the funds he did borrow. What was the hurry?

Truely a sobering conversation Al had with Karen. Sure does not sound like there was much in the way of positive news.

Hal,

First, I would like to thank you for the many, many great posts on this thread. Your comments, insight and patience with regard to Ampex have been the glue that has held many of us together here.

With regard to Alan's conversation with Karen and your thoughts on that, I have a different conclusion. Given the nature of her job and the painfully obvious and continuing conservatism that Ampex has toward releasing any news about anything, I would expect that Karen would never, never even hint about anything that might be going on. In fact, I would fully expect that any comments that she might make would be slanted in the opposite direction - even towards being negative. As far as her still being in the New York area at the same time as her boss - well, perhaps very convenient if he happens to needs a PR type for some impending news. BTW, planes are leaving Kennedy every minute.

As I see it, someone - or some company - has decided to start accumulating some shares at very attractive low prices. For what reason - who knows? But I do think that will become evident shortly.
