Don, is it only called a "hanging man" when it is in an uptrend configuration (as we are relatively still in)? I have often seen this same pattern (sharp decline, close near the high) at the end of a longer term downtrend, and then a rally from there. Is it then a reversal either way? Debra

Just a thought...with the Naz coming back to positive territory, there is no gap between yesterday and today on the daily chart. In my opinion, this is more fuel for the bear since the bulls can't say "well, we got that gap to fill you know..."

Even tho the gaps that really mean anything don't usually fill. Go figure.

Don, I think you need to look at a 2 day picture to see a hanging man. Since the Naz opened down 100 (near the lows) and has gone straight up, it looks to me like today is a long white candle.
