<<So unless you are a smoker, inflation is nowhere in sight. >>

As far as I understand, the so-called core PPI excluded food and energy too. Or am I wrong? From what I observe, food price inflates a lot, although it is offset by energy price drop.

gbh, There is always some excuse why PPI and CPI should have something taken out. As I've often said, if the permabulls don't like a number they just ignore it. But I agree in this case. We are not facing massive inflation. We are much more likely to be facing a deflationary depression caused by huge overcapacity.

I don't buy the internuts because they are not real cos., except for a paired trade in my income account last spring. I do buy puts on them from time to time, but have not done so since last summer. I see too many folks who are calling their valuations ridiculous. I need to see more of them convincing themselves by airhead logic, as they are about the non-internut tech stocks, before I jump in to make money on them again. Right now there is too much scepticism for my druthers. I like the herd to run in one direction before buying my puts on fluff.
