I agree sir most larger companies do have issues with allowing ports in their firewall being opened. My only other suggestion may be a dual "shotgun" modem installed utilizing telephone lines.

...and you are probably going to have a hard time convincing them that they SHOULD open open the ports so that you can do daytrading while you are supposed to be doing work for the company...
