V.S: It is quite rare & unnatural for a Tier 1 Company to take over an established loser. They usually lure away any genuine talent forcing the Loser to decline even faster.

CTRON most likely will be forced into a fire sale.

Vijay, I have long felt that by combining ASND and CS, Lucent could put together a real Cisco-killer, with excellent products from the carrier to the enterprise. Now ASND is part of LU. In the recent articles, weakness in the enterprise is frequently cited as a problem LU needs to address before its ready to take on CSCO on all fronts. CS would come cheap (if CB wises up), maybe costing 1/8 what ASND received. So I think your idea makes sense. Assuming there is interest from LU, the question is whether CB would play along.
