It seems that most on this thread are overlooking the fact that AMD just came out with their best report in 3 years and that they are in the first stages of an upswing in revenues, earnings, and product acceptance. If I recall correctly, AMD was getting its first deals with the major boxmakers just over a year ago; now most except Gateway and Dell use their chips.
I wouldn't put too much weight in after hours trading as it's often just a head-fake on light volume. Although the missed estimate is disappointing to those who were hoping for a blowout, it was not very significant from a statistical point of view as the estimates varied widely. It seems to me that visibility is improving and that AMD will have a good chance at gaining share in the high-end, just as they have in the low-end.
Good luck to all - PerryA
