Clarence. Re: burn-in. Some of the stability increase seen by people 'burning in' their oc'd systems is probably as much imagination as fact, but if you want to load up your machine, try downloading the RC5 client from distributed.net. This is a small program that uses your spare cpu cycles to help crack a code as part of a contest. You can continue to use your computer as you would normally. Any cpu cycles not needed by your other programs are used by the client, ensuring 100% cpu utilization.

Many people have been running this client for over a year non-stop. I've been running mine for a few months.

The advantages:
-normal use of your computer
-no additional load on your graphics cards (as would quake, etc), so heat build-up in the case is not exaggerated.
- true 100% cpu utilization
- promoting the CAUSE (i.e., privacy and freedom on the net)
- a (very) slim chance of winning $1000

The web site is
distributed.net

Also I didn't see my fav fonts amongst the 25 in the NT fonts folder. Any suggestions where to go for free fonts? I haven't looked in the w98 fonts folder. But that brings another question to mind. Say I find the fonts I want in w98 on the other drive. How do I bring them over to the nt drive since my two drives are not accessible from each other? My active drive is always C and the other one is always D and not accessible.

Your D drive should be accessible from NT. The intent was to format the second drive FAT16 for that reason. If it was formatted FAT32 it is not accessible from NT. It can be changed from FAT32 to FAT16 with Partition Magic.

Why do you think the D drive is inaccessible? Does the drive letter show up in NT explorer?

I can't help much with the fonts. I am heading in that direction myself. I just picked up Corel Draw with 1000 + fonts. They have a few interesting ones. I do not know how font compatibility works and how to transfer/load them into the standard Win font location. Perhaps one only has to copy them into a specific folder?

Spots probably knows<g>

It looks like you got your machine from Jon in time. He seems to be more busy now than he was before Christmas. I have a feeling you are partly to blame<g>
