Sorry, CNBC talked about the downgrade, then followed up with an upbeat discussion of the upgrade. You must have missed it.
They really like AAPL. Kernan was practically hugging it, the way he discussed it.
As for channel stuffing...it IS BS. However, even if they didn't "stuff", their inventory would be at about 11 days anyway....assuming they took back all the machines that haven't sold. That's an approximation, of course. Most stores don't keep large inventories. A week, at best.
11 days is still pretty damn good. It's a damn sight better than it was, and I don't think it would have had any impact in terms of hitting the .70 number.
This BS talk is just that....
Analysts, as I said, rarely understand the industry they are looking into. They are usually has beens who got tossed by a company, or MBAs who never had any other job.
So, they hold grudges, make prejudicial decisions, or make just plain stupid remarks.

CNBC did report the upgrade. Mark added it after Joe mentioned the downgrade, at least one time.
