Ed Perry mentioned not selling a stock that is acting well, whether your primary viewpoint is fundamental or technical or some hybrid.
Homely tale that just happened to me - we all have similar stories- I have a ton of em BA ( before Ampex).
Took a position a few months ago in ATEC at 4.75. Fell to the 3s in the small cap despair of the fall...averaged down a little. Surged rapidly to 7. The volume hugely expanded - extremely odd trading action. Ed kindly took a look at it on the charts and said it looked good to him. By then I had sold at 7. After that surge ( which went to 8 ) what I considered to be a very disappointing earnings report came out and I felt pleased that I had sold - but still kept an eye on it. ATEC fell into the 5s and then started to perform better ...hitting 10.75 today so far.
So...the obvious. One rally doesn't mean the last rally despite retracement. And a bad report or two doesn't mean the end of price progress. ( but as always there ain't any sure things in microcaps). Ampex will very likely announce a web host participation SOMEDAY this year. And whatever the host ....and whatever the service ( probably storage and audio - video delivery finer than the commonplace) ..... the market's present enthusiasm may well grow geometrically for awhile. At least that is what I am rolling the dice on ....despite the real risks.
Appreciate the participation of all. Always an education for me.
Don't know if this is snipe or whompus cat hunting or if we are finally nearing the end of some rainbow .....

Technical Analysis Terms.

I will put together a list of definitions in a bit. However, I edited
the material so that the point should come through: AXC, while in a
bullish trend medium and long term, is at overbought marks in several
types of indicators (price increase not justified by volume)and is ripe for a down move and some sideways time.

Let me say that I am not a big believer in technical analysis. It does give one something to think about when there is no fundamental information out there.

On Another Note: For what it's worth, my thought was that the massive downward pressure on this stock which pushed it to well below the $6 -- $7 range it probably deserves in this market was a consequence of the Korean downturn. AXC's Korean partner in the keepered media thing may have had a large stake in the company and might have had to sell. The recent upswing may be investors realising that the pressure is now off.
