<<Speaking of talents, AMD's financial office must be run by a whole bunch of buffoons (or baboons). The sign for a good quarter looked very good in the street, but financially another disappointment. It looks like AMD needs another CFO. Some one that has 1% of the talent of Barrett (now president of Intel) would be sufficient.>>

I just don't know why all the Intelafoons are YAPPING about. Just a few months ago they declared that AMD will never make any money regardless of the number of chips they sold. Now they go back and say that it was a disappointing quarter. Let me remind you that this quarter, AMD ACHIEVED

a) Cash increased over $100M
b) Shipped 5.5M CPU whereas Intel 25M
c) AMD gained market share
d) AMD made $0.15 vs $0.01 in Q3 (1500% increase)
e) Signed Toshiba
f) Introduced 1.8V mobile K6-2-333MHz
g) Achieved SRAM yield in FAB30
h) Sample K7 to OEM this month with AMD chipset
i) Announce GTW later this month
j) Made 400K 400MHz (Hell of a lot more than 1% yield ASSHOK KUMAR predicted)
k) K7 is on track to launch in June.

These news are much better than Q2-98 or Q3-98. The stocks nevertheless tanked because the analysts consensus was not met. Interestingly enough this number was raised from less than $0.10 to $0.19 in less than 2 months! Asshok raised from $0.13 to $0.21 just 2 days ago. All I can say is UNBELIEVABLE! Analysts must get REAL. Raising EPS of AMD from $0.13 top $0.21 is like raising Intel from $1.10 to $1.79!

Enough said. If you are bitching at AMD results go back and study some more. AMD came out of Q4 stronger than they did in Q3. AMD has succeeded in forcing Intel to abandon Slot1 and AMD added more customers. This was achieved by delivering solid volume of K6-2. The battle field has set. AMD got the customers, AMD got the products, AMD got the volume, and THE MONEY IS COMING! If AMD can maintain positive growth EPS throughout 1999 then FAB30 will bring huge revenue in 2000.

Q3/98-----Q4/98------Q1/99
$0.01-----$0.15------$0.22 (Needham's estimate)

Bought a bunch today of July 99 and Jan 00 options. They are very attractive.
