Charles I will let Steve respond to this concerning Yamner fees. I believe the fees are shown on the web site though.

I was with Schwab and can tell you that just the peace of mind is worth any SMALL difference in price.

The orders are placed by phone which gives me a little stage fright <g> but once over that you will love it. I had stage fright when I first started flying when I spoke with ATC.

Yesterday I heard the trader who answered holler across the room "Monty Lenard sell 500 XYZ at 5/8". INSTANTLY, he confirms. Pretty neat really.

I mean it is almost like you are one of the family. Hope I am not embarassing Steve with all this but that is the way they make you feel.

Monty

Chaz,
I've been with Yamner for just about a year now. Moved from Schwab.
Best thing I ever did. Agree 100% with Monty except to me the comfort, peace of mind, executions, confirmations & especially the people at Yamner are worth more than their fees (but don't tell Steve<G>).
As with Monty, trading by phone with a person on the other end was a little frightening at first but they really do treat you like family, ie: when I call to trade I say "this is Bill from WA state, do you need my account #?". Usually, before I can give it to them, they have me up on the screen. Somehow I think they all know who I am beforehand, & I don't trade that much.
They will also help with suggestions & ideas if you ask, (thanks Bernie).
Answering the phone within the 2nd ring - this is true! Even on the busiest day of the year last year.
Know this sounds like I'm a shill for Yamner, but all this is true!
One more thing, Steve was very helpful in getting my stuff transfered from Schwab. Those SOB's did everything they could, dragging their feet with the transfer (thanks Steve).

Regards,
Bill/WA

Evening Charles. Thanks for the post. It seems with all the problems this week, all the disasters at other firms which I have been reading and hearing about, it seems Yamner & Co., Inc. came through in relatively good form.

Lets get one thing straight. We arent perfect. We're far from it. We strive each and every day to get better at trading, with our technologies, in support of our clients and their best interests.
Sometimes the trades are a fraction slower, sometimes the prices arent as wonderful as it might seem, but there is a distinction. I think we differentiate ourselves because our clients mean something to us.

From a business standpoint, we do everything we can to embrace them as they are our most valueable asset. There is no business without them. From a personal standpoint, its what make the job, the company and our efforts worthwhile. I can trade for anyone. I could push through trades brainlessly and without concern. Its when you associate the trade to the person, your concern and caring for them, that makes you go the extra mile. I think this is the prevailing attitude at our company that makes the difference.

As for commissions, they are avail on the site at yamner.com . We continue to feel that the phone is the most reliable technology and we guarantee to answer the phones, ready to trade for you, within 2 rings. I think even during the most volatile moments of the past two weeks, and over the past 22 years, we have done that. For internet saavy traders, we have a video conference server, ICQ and email support.

Our commissions are a bit more than other firms but cheaper than nearly 93% of all broker dealers. I think we offer performance and service in the top 2% of all firms and yet we are one of the cheapest. Its a good combo. But it does cost a few bucks more. Hopefully the quality of the fills, the price improvements and lack of slippage in fills on market orders, covers the cost. As you can tell by the post, while we feel most clients realize significant price improvements, the focus clients discuss is on the services, the relationship and the sincerity of efforts.

Check our site at yamner.com.

Have a great weekend@!
I'll be in the office all weekend dealing with stuff that got put on the backburner as a result of the wild market this week....the wife is lovin' me!

Charles,

I'm a customer of Yamner about a year ago. I trade every other day with them and I'm very happy with the results. I think they are a great group of people always ready to help the customer, the standards in Yamner are fast executions, price improvements, and a great flexibility to work with the customer.

Regards,
Marco
