The Republicans do care about peoples needs. In fact, they are far more for the middle class working American than the tax and spend, centralized government socialist Democrats. The Democratic constituency, in my opinion are people who work for the government or want something from the government. Not normally working people. The underclass, welfare group will always vote as a block. Then you have the very rich who get special favors, tax code changes to favor them, in return for their funding the party. The people who are pulling the wagon are the working Americans. They are unfairly and overly taxed. They don't have the opportunity to educate their children as their good judgement would allow them to do without Washington intervention, etc.. The American hero is the hard working, middle class American who carries the major part of the load and funds the programs for many who make living from the public trough a career. Here are some axioms from Abraham Lincoln, a great Republican who wanted to give a level playing field to all Americans. You Cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift. You Cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong. You Cannot help small men by tearing down big men. You Cannot lift the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer. You cannot help the poor man by destroying the rich. You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than your income. You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred. You cannot establish security on borrowed money. You cannot build character and courage by taking away man's initiative and independence. You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves. Telfair Stockton---Eternal Energy, with principle, vision and confidence, will bring success. Frank
