I missed the show -- didn't know it was on. I've read a few chapters of the book, and it is indeed moving. He doesn't whitewash the people -- they have real faults and he covers them briefly. I guess flaming is OK if you understand what it is -- junk food for the mind. It hypes up your emotions and leaves you flat. If you don't know what you are getting into it can leave you wounded. There are exceptions, but I think most people have room for personal growth like you and I are getting. Flaming will not do that. I'll have to think about the writer's group thing. For you to understand would take a lot of explanation. It might be worthwhile though so I'll think about it. Another forum would be better.
