Brian: Re: "Do you really feel AMAT is valued appropiately a trough levels after the longest sector recession in equipment history?"

Never said it and AMAT is not valued at trough valuations now anyway. It is measured closer to a peak valuation level. I think the stock will be accorded record valuations in the next upcycle if we remain in a low inflation slow growth economy. Too much, too soon at these valuation levels IMO considering the risks.

"Should everyone wait to buy until the BTB is 1.2 and sales are $6B/year?"

Never said that either. Buy low and sell high. Makes sense to me.
Are you confusing me with someone else?

"We are going from extremely depressed levels to very high levels.
Unless you are a trader, you need to look at the BIG PICTURE of semiconductors and how they will cahnge the world even more as we head into the new millenium."

You are preaching to the choir. Sounds like you must think I am an idiot bear. Read my posts again. I said I was short term bearish. I still have exposure in this sector and will retire if your prognostications come true. But I don't like this market now and don't like AMAT either in this context. I have no problem with buying and holding here. Not for me. My personal choice.
