the plastic mounting brackets plugged into the BH6 don't seem to "grab" the edges of the Celeron/Fan housing

The first thing I tried was installing the CPU and then the plastic brackets on the side. I did not go well so I took out the CPU and installed the plastic brackets first. (NOTE: not all plastic brackets are the same)

I installed the plastic brackets by pushing them into the holes on the mobo. They snap into position. There is a little push thingy that has to be in the up position while you are inserting the plastic pins. Once the plastic pins have snapped into position you push down on the little plastic "thingies'. They wedge into the hole expanding and locking in the bracket.

Then firmly ( I did this on a table before the mobo was installed into the case to minimize flexing the mobo) push the Celeron into the slot.

If you installed the guides on the mobo then thats it. The Celeron doesn't snap in nicely as the PII's do. Mine is pretty lose.
