ZP, I have the plastic brackets snapped into the MB; the "pushpins" then nicely snapped down into position, securing the brackets. The celeron goes easily into the slot (with the notch allowing only one way entry), leaving the fan pointing into the case and away from the ports on the exterior.

All of this seems ok, but the mounting brackets have about a 1/2 inch space. They have what looks like a notch in the middle of the 1/2" space which wants to drop into some slot in exact alignment with the edge of the circuit board, but the board does not extend sideways far enough to even get close to touching the mounting bracket. The fan housing almost does, but hits the brackets about 1/4 inch off center, missing the "grab" point of the mounting brackets. It is loose in the bracket. The bracket doesn't seem to do anything to stabilize the board.

Do I have the wrong brackets?

ZP, here's another stupid question:

I spent most of a day looking for extra brass posts to use for mounting the MB. I finally got my case vendor to give me two extras so I had the 6 required.

Now that the MB is installed, I put the Matrox into its slot and discovered that the screw-down bracket was too high! Are we supposed to mount the MB directly onto the case? Mine has little "mounds" for screwing in the brass posts, so I guess I could screw directly into the case instead of the brass posts.

Did you have to do this?
