CIEN: HAMBRECHT&QUIST has reiterated estimate for fiscal year ending 10/99 of $1.83 on 01/14/99 So, Cien is currently trading at 10 times est. fy '99 earnings? And it trades within a dollar or so of WDC which is est. to lose > $3.00 for it's fy ended 6/99? Wow! What am I missing here???

Glen, I get H&Q reports via Schwab... I have not been able to verify any comments made by them on Cien recently, much less any reiteration of earnings estimates such as you have posted. Please provide more information or a URL to verify such. I would like to see their justification for such. I find it hard to believe based on the guidance provided by the company at the last earnings release or maybe someone knows something we don't . Regards, Tom
