"...Nintendo has commented to Asia BizTech that it expects Game Boy Color sales "to be brisk from January to March 1999."

Demand for game machines generally drops in January to March after Christmas sales season, says BizTech. To the contrary, Game Boy Color demand has not shrunk, with Nintendo saying it will continue to ship one million machines a month.

Nintendo went on to say it had shipped approximately five million units of Game Boy Color by the end of December 1998, 2-2.5 million of which were for the Japanese market..."
