I agree. I think the article also implies that now LU is for real, and the acquisition of ASND gives them the potential to be "CSCO Class."

I don't know why LU bought Livingston. I think the acquisition of ASND admits that Livingston was a mistake. Maybe someone at LU is finally starting to 'get it.'

The data networking industry is filled with years of continuous ongoing training, in order to comprehend how things work. It is not the type of industry that an 'analog Telco CEO type' is going to have a clue about. Given today's market players, ASND represented the best candidate to add strength to LUs core business. I think this has been obvious to a lot of the ASNDers for over a year. I just hope a data networking guy takes over the reigns at LU, as happened with the Nortel merger.

So, the author was "stupid" because he wrote an article about the Ascend-LU combo, a combo that was well known to
be in the works for many many months. Just what is it that we know now besides the actual terms that wasn't true about the the pairing a few days, if not months, precedent?

Gee, I guess we all know who looks stupid!

I presume you also object to those who write obituaries prior to actual death. Whoops, that's cutting close to home for LU.

Btw, since you were also obtuse about Cisco in 1996 I can say that it must be consistency and not thought that is your primary attribute.

Regards from paradise.
